About
I’ve spent the last 20 years building carefully designed, one-off frames and forks for serious riders, in a wild variety of configurations, styles, and sizes. I’ve built more 29ers (and 36ers) than anyone else on the planet, and I happily do fatbikes, 29+ and 27.5+, tandems, full suspension bikes, road/cross/gravel/bmx/unicycle – or something that exists only in your imagination.
I also spent more than a decade as a UCI elite/USAC pro racer in both XC and gravity disciplines figuring out what works (and what doesn’t) when it comes to fit, geometry, and componentry. I’ve designed great bikes for 7 foot, 400 pound riders, and 4 foot 6, 80 pound ones – and everyone in between. Great deals on complete bikes are available – I have OEM pricing from every component builder on the planet, so you can spec your perfect build (or go with the smart money recommendations)
I now teach one-on-one framebuilding classes year-round from my home base of Los Alamos, NM. Combine an amazing vacation with the learning experience of a lifetime and build your own dream bike from the ground up!

November 12, 2016 at 7:49 amHey Walt,
I’m looking to improve my gravel road touring recumbent before my Great Divide tour next summer from Canada to Mexico. I’m hoping you will make me a steel truss fork for it.
I live in Park City and could bring bike and/or fork to you or you could come over to my place.
Thanks, Dennis
